Undergraduate Scholarships

SEAS Senior Scholar Program

An opportunity to:

    • Work with a faculty member or research group during the semester
    • Receive a $1000 stipend
    • Gain research experience
    • Receive early admission and preferred consideration for an assistantship for graduate studies in SEAS

Eligibility and how to apply:

    • Senior standing in engineering expecting to graduate between June and January
    • Minimum GPA 3.0
    • Attach a copy of your resume
    • Prepare a one page (approx. 250 word) statement describing your technical interests and potential plans for graduate study—including definite or possible interest in Ph.D.
    • Submit to your home department
    • You do not need to have a faculty advisor or research area arranged to apply

Frederick Thomas Award

Established by Mrs. Patricia T. Thomas, in memory of Frederick Thomas, the first chair of the industiral engineering department, to encourage an outstanding member of the junior class.

Thomas/Karwan Award

Funded by Robert Francis Hanley, Jr., a 1990 BS IE graduate, in order to recognize both Dr. Warren H. Thomas and Dr. Mark Karwan as the two professors who were instrumental in helping him complete his degree.
